Zeit mal wieder die Rechner an Laufen zu bringen. Heute mal wieder eine Überraschung ->keine X-Server. Wie so häufig habe ich die Probleme nicht alleine

Die erste Fehlermeldung war heute

Can't Load Modules

Errors about not being able to load modules (most notably glcore) can be fixed by removing the line to load them from your xorg.conf. This can be done automatically for non-customized config files by running dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg as root. 

Ich tat wie mir geheißen. Nun war die Schrift mies. Also die modules-section in die alte xorg.conf kopiert und flux neu gestartet. Aber es gabe eine neue Fehlermeldung:

Fatal server error:
could not open default font 'fixed'

Nun war meine Geduld am Ende. Einfach alle Pfade auskommentiert. Und schon lief alles.

Obwohl ich vorher die scripts von kanotix "install-new-nvidia" und "fix-fonts" ausprobiert hatte. Bei Gelegenheit schaue ich mir diese genauer an.

Aufhänger beim Athlon Boot-option grub kernel ev. hilfe es ja auch beim Tablett

Falls ihr Probleme beim Athlon habt, dann versucht in der /etc/lilo.conf folgende Option einzutragen :

append="mem=nopentium"

test auf Version

1.0-7676 1.0-7676/NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-7676-pkg1.run

1.0-7676 die Version alsa das erste Leerzeichen..

der Rest ist trivial

If you have a working X config file for a different driver (such as the "nv"
or "vesa" driver), then simply edit the file as follows.

Remove the line:

      Driver "nv"
  (or Driver "vesa")
  (or Driver "fbdev")

and replace it with the line:

    Driver "nvidia"

Remove the following lines:

    Load "dri"
    Load "GLCore"

In the "Module" section of the file, add the line (if it does not already
exist):

    Load "glx"
